36.60-meter Classic Cutter Rigged Sloop
Preliminary briefing: 36.6m Classic Cutter Rigged Sloop. The ink has scarcely dried on Royal Huisman’s latest contract, for a stunning 36.58m/120’ classic cruising yacht whose styling will offer many nostalgic references to a former era. The attractive exterior profile will be home to a high standard of modern living amenity below whilst, on deck, advanced sail handling technologies and yacht management systems will make light work of extended voyaging.
The lines are by Dykstra & Partners Naval Architects, with interior by Rhoades Young. Only preliminary details are available at this early stage but the design features two deckhouses on a clean, open deck above a sensitively sheered hull with an elegant transom stern. There is a secluded owner’s cockpit behind the aft deckhouse, complemented by a comfortable on-deck dining area between the helm and the main deckhouse.
Underwater, a fully ballasted and retractable bulb keel will marry performance with shoal draft cruising. For project manager Jens Cornelsen this contract represents the nineteenth yacht that he will have supervised on behalf of his clients at Royal Huisman. The Classic Cutter Rigged Sloop is scheduled for launch in 2012.
