    Hi Folks

    After 16 good years, we are retiring our anchor chain and nylon line rode. That little splice between the line and chain worries me? I can't seem to find the installed diameters of the chain or the line in my materials, only the lengths. Anyone know what they installed on the 50 with a Lewmar 3000D vertical windlass?

    You have to look on the Capstan and see what the drum is stamped for. It could be anything, or just copy what you have. You can re-use the chain if it's in good condition and have new rope spliced to it. It's easy to redo the splice and in good condition I've never had any issue with a rope to chain splice.

    Thx, Capt J. When I take the shrink wrap off in a couple of weeks, I'll look at the capstan
