Midsummer was the name of a yacht that subsequently caught fire on Christmas Eve in Cannes when the yacht tied next to her also had a fire aboard.

Yes, almost right. Midsummer was a 40 m charteryacht that caught fire in the old port of Cannes on Christmas Eve 1997. The firefighters were spraying so much water that she eventually sank, after the heat of over 650°C had melted her aluminium superstructure down. Next to her, the Heesen yacht Honey Money got her top deck damaged during the fire.

Donīt take this personal but many questions lately has been too sophisticated. May I quote the second post in this long thread and hope we can continue with more trivia related questions so more people get a fair chance to answer...? Quote: |

I think that trivia is an excellent idea. There are many members who have great knowledge about yachting and everything that is connected to yachting, so this could be a nice topic to exchange that knowledge about interesting things that doesn't belong in existing topics.
There is similar topic on another forum about F1. In less than 6 months it grew to over 40 threads. It works in a way that each person who answers the question must ask the next one. If there is a story behind the question, that's even better.
Not only this could be fun and interesting... but also very educational. | |

OK, so you took it personal anyway. Sorry about that, but donīt you agree that questions that absolutely nobody can answer without being lucky to find the answer in a book or on the net, is a little too far from the trivia idea?
Maybe nobody noticed but Carl was also trying to lead us back to the original idea last week; http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/40421-post511.html |

FWIW AMG, What do you think of when I say Midsummer on Christmas Eve? It doesn't get much more abscure than that. But I jumped for the bait, none the less.
So, then I post a question about one of the longest running production US built yachts in history, the Hatteras 53 Classic. And in your view that question is too tough. OK. Fair enough. You're a moderator, and you have moderated.
FYI, The answer is: The production run of the 53 Hatteras Classic was from Feb. 1969 to June 1988. http://www.hatterasowners.com/models.htm
I guess it's your go then~

With all respect, my question I know that a lot of people can answer just from memory. But I doubt anybody in the entire world can answer your question from the top of their heads. My point was not that you should erase it, but that we all should try to find more general trivia questions in the future.
I can start with asking what three hull colors the 86 meter yacht built as Nabila has had under her three owners?

Keeping the subject of Nabilia/Kingdom 5KR...
According to a recent interview to Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, current owner of the yacht, what is the planned lenght of the next "Kingdom 5KR" ..?
