The former USS Williamsburg , presidential yacht of President Truman is up for sale in San Remo/ Italy I believe, although I have no clue of her present state. Obviously the brokers will only sell in conjunction with a major restoration.

select "classic" and scroll to bottom.

What about some other movie yachts?

I'm curious, was the Flying Saucer from the Bond movie Never Say Never Again (the utterly awful "remake" of Thunderball... ugh) an actual yacht? Or just a nicely fixed up model?

She was and is a real yacht!

At the time of the movie Adnan Kashoggi was her owner and her name was NABILA. Later she was TRUMP PRINCESS and nowadays you can see her often at Cannes as KINGDOM 5KR. A couple of days ago she was at Malta: http://www.yacht-images.com/modules....view_photo.php

I wish we will see Nabila in her nice original colours again one day!

On Bond movie yachts it is however still the original Disco Volante that has impressed me the most http://www.jamesbondmm.co.uk/vehicles/disco-volante.php

The scene where she is diveded in two and takes off, is simply unforgettable..

I agree with you about the colours AMG.

Do you have more info about Disco Volante or wasn't she a real yacht?

She was an old hydrofoil named Flying Fish which had been in traffic between Venezuela and Mexico, that the scenographer Ken Adam bought in 1964 and had rebuilt at a cost of GBP 200.000...

Haida G ex Rosenkavalier

The extensive two year refit by new European Owners, with a passion for the yacht, has restored her to her former glory! The beautiful HAIDA G is a first class luxury gentleman's yacht built in 1929 from a bygone age, fitted out with traditional quality furniture and fittings.

Welcome aboard Dan!

El Presidente is a 1939 96' Mathis-Trumpy. She underwent a major restoration in 1996. She spends summers in Chicago and winters in South Florida.

Many celebrities has been onboard Rosenkavalier, especially during the period she was owned by record and movie producer Robert Stigwood. There is a good page with a brief history of the yacht here; http://www.best-yachts.com/medyacht/...lier/page3.htm

I found this picture in the german edition of GQ, it is supposed to be "Marlin", formerly owned by President Kennedy.

The text literaly says:

"Kennedys longest affair

Shoemanufacturer Diego Della Velle, whose pebble-soled leisure shoes by Tod´s sailors also like to wear, just purchased by auction on the phone at Christies´s New York, while he was having lunch with Ralph Lauraen, "Marlin", which John F. Kennedy cruised before cape Cod. This is the reason the owner raises the flag of the american president at the stern. "

No wonder Mark Twain poked so mch fun at german grammar.
