| Maltese Falcon breaks the 20 knt barrier
This is an amazing feat for the Falcon. To my knowledge, she was designed to reach 18/19 knots...Now she has gone over 20 knots and the crew are optimistic for mid 20's soon. That i would have to see... but i still find it amazing...she is practically faster than Royal Clipper. MF has 15 sails and royal Clipper has 42?...great feat for the Falcon crew....for more... http://www.symaltesefalcon.com/images/crew_diary.htm |

Quite the accomplishment! I think MF will deliver more pleasant surprises in time.

Yes, great stuff! from my favourite sail yacht. There is an update in the crew log on the Falcons' website if anyone is interested.

Sorry to say...
We planned a very special review of MF to premiere in December. I have repeatedly, and I repeat, repeatedly... requested images from Perini and they have not followed through. I met with Sara Gioanola (assistant to marketing director Cristina Bernardini) at FLIBS and she apologized profusely for slacking and promised (once again) she would send images right away. Needless to say, nothing arrived.
Sooo... being the pesky publisher I am, I e-mailed her one last time, about 2 weeks ago and she promised a package would be sent immediately. Once again... nothing, notta, zip, zilch!
I'm done with Perini. Sorry Jed.

I have some good external pics of the MF in Monaco, you're welcome to have them, but I think you mean interior photos. This is an amazing yacht to behold, in scale, beauty and in design.

It's very kind of you to offer. Thank you.
The magazines have provided good coverage on MF, but this build is even more unusual because it has it's own dedicated website, updated by Jed and his crew. This is, in many ways, much better than a review because we are getting real time information from the people who know a LOT more about the build than a writer hired to cover it. My reason for doing a feature on MF was because of its significance, and also because Jed has included YF members along the way.
We have a number of notable launches coming up and we need to turn our attention to these builds now.

Sorry your getting nothing from Perini.
I will see Sara at the Antigua show and will ask again
Hopefully she will realise how much they are letting down the yacht-forums readers.
Cheers for now from Antigua (morning after Shirley Heights!!!!)

Carl
I talked to Sara at the Anyigua show and she assured me she had sent two packages to you
I don't know where they are going but maybe on more try. She seemed keen to help.
Cheers Jed

Hi Jed,
I received a Christmas card from Cristina Bernardini, so they have the right address! I think Sara was a giving you a "cover thy stern" answer. Thank you for following up on this.
Carl

While we are waiting for some quality pics to come out, here's a couple (poor quality) scanned shots of the interior.
Notice the vintage race car as a center piece in the saloon.
