50-meter Perini "Baracuda" Nears Completion
The unique looking 50-meter ketch, the "Baracuda" almost appears to be nothing out of the ordinary via Perini Navi's building style. While this may be true, there is one aspect of her that sets her apart from most Perini builds and this is her sails.
While
Baracuda's sails are not that much different either, it is the color that clearly makes the marked difference. She sports a deep purple hue that certainly creates a dramatic chromatic effect. These new sails were tested and seen on her recent sea trials.
Around mid-November, the
Baracuda was going through her paces, testing systems including her ketch rig on the waters offshore Viareggio. The
Baracuda represents the 45th unit launched by Perini Navi and will soon be completed for her owner(s).
