April 15, 2008: OceAnco Netherlands: "Yacht building in the spotlight". The OceAnco shipyard played host to the shipyard week in the Nerthlands recently. The European shipyard week was held from the 7th to the 12th of April.

The luscious event was initiated by the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, mrs. Maria van der Hoeven. The Mayor of Alblasserdam, ms Lennie Huizer was also present to address the participants of the event.

The shipyard week event was well attended by some 250 industry representatives, journalists, students and other media representatives. The managing director of OceAnco, Eel Kant did not withhold his feelings and pride of the shipyard. They are in a pivotal position in the yacht industry being number 3 in their market.

Eel Kant said, "for you this may be an ordinary day, but we see it as an important milestone." OceAnco is a Dutch shipyard known for constructing yachts of 80 or more meters. In the past they have built smaller yachts but have been ingrained in the building of superyachts recently.

Being proud to host a prestigious event such as the European Shipyard week, Eel Kant and OceAnco workers can rest assured they are situated among the best!

OceAnco and city of Alblasserdam expand

April 23, 2008: OceAnco Netherlands: "OceAnco Expands":

"OceAnco actively contributes to the urban renewal of the city of Alblasserdam and expands its existing facility and capabilities acquiring 57,000 sq M of new land."

OceAnco Yachts NL located their shipyard facilities to the city of Alblasserdam in 1997 and has actively been involved in the progress of that city since it has located there.

OceAnco and the city of Alblasserdam have come together to formulate long term plans of helping the city. This includes the development of the city into the regional center for tourism.

They have invested significant money and energy into the development of plans for the renewal of areas around the OceAnco facility. Putting plans into circulation with the help of Haven Zuid Development, they plan to have hotels, shopping regions and other tourism related events and activities.

OceAnco's personal commitment is to expand themselves along their current location to include the construction of a number of covered drydocks. On Tuesday 8, 2008 the city of Alblasserdam and OceAnco came together once again to finalize their mutual deal for the city region.

The formal agreement was signed between the two parties and OceAnco aquired the 57,000 sq M of land for the dry-dock facilities. OceAnco then gave back 19,000 sq M of its own prime yard land to the city to realize the goals established in prior meetings with the city.

OceAnco also has expressed commitment to being a financial safety net of sorts for the future programs and projects the city will undertake. The yard has underwitten itself to providing finances to those works that will need added monies.

This is the result of a fruitful clash between a great city and a great shipyard. The yard acquired needed lands to facilitate the betterment of their yacht building programs. OceAnco gave back land to the city of Alblasserdam and sealed a deal for monetary help to the community projects.

"Now that is what I call expansion!"

OceAnco launches "Y703"

Just in case you did not see the launch of the Anastasia in that thread, OceAnco recently published the press release on the launch of Anastasia.

May 06, 2008: OceAnco Yachts Alblasserdam, Netherlands: Early, on the morning of April 23rd 2008, "Y703" emerged from Oceanco's building hall in Alblasserdam, the Netherlands, and was launched later the same day.

The following day a glowing group of approximately 600 guests gathered for the owners launch celebrations in an event that gave everyone involved with the project the opportunity to admire Y703 and take pride in his contribution to her completion.

The Managing Director of the Shipyard, announced You have all contributed significantly to the delivery of another absolutely spectacular yacht, something which Oceanco is kwown for and our owners have come to expect from us. Thank you for a job well done. The owners of the yacht representative also spoke and warmly thanked everyone who had taken part in this great team effort and had done such a fantastic job.

"Y703" is the third yacht to be launched by Oceanco recently, after AMEVI and ALFA NERO, pushing the technical, mechanical and aesthetic boundaries of yacht building even further in order to maintain the integrity of the owner's vision.

The yachts strikingly elegant and dynamic hull is the work of Australian designer Sam Sorgiovanni who not only drew the lines for her exterior but is also responsible for her interior design. This stunning vessel is incredibly spacious and her garage, for example, will play host to a large array of tenders: a 9.5m limousine and a similar sized sports runabout, four jet skis and many other water toys. Her swimming platform incorporates a drop down section to easily access the sea and, on sundeck, a touch and go helipad.

Her accommodations are equally as impressive with a two-level owners suite, two VIP suites, three double cabins, a cinema, a massage room, and a medical room. A crew of twenty, housed in ten double cabins will look after the owners and their ten guests and there remains an additional two cabins that can be used by the owners staff.

The blue hulled yacht is equipped with twin MTU 16V 4000 M90 series engines driving twin propellers to give her a top speed of 18 knots and a cruising range of 4000 nautical miles at 14 knots.

This magnificent yacht is currently berthed at Oceanco's shipyard for her final outfitting details and commissioning activities.
