New Build: OceAnco 85-meter Y-705

OceAnco transfers the 85-meter "Y-705" hull

One of OceAnco's mostly anticipated designs have officially become reality. This is the massive 85-meter project under build number "Y-705". Recently, this hull took a ride on board a barge to be transfered to the OceAnco facility in Alblasserdam where she will be mated with her superstructure. On Wednesday February 21, 2007, the keel for Y-705 was laid and construction began.

Y-705 is being built to a design by Bjorn Johansson. The megayacht platform reflects the purposeful will to develop a clean and powerful design that will always be tasteful and aesthetically pleasing to the viewer. The 85.50-meter megayacht is scheduled to be launched for December, 2009.

Y-705 is following a rich trend set by the ground-breaking hull design of Amevi (ex-Y-701). The yachts of the 700 series have solidified OceAnco's position as an experienced yacht builder. Y-705 certainly will be a head turner once launched and delivered.

The Bjorn Johansson design combines angular surfaces with sweeping lines that allows the eye to seamlessly transition from deck to deck. The exterior decks will be all clad in teak and be expansive. The 46.59 foot beam allows for a bounty of space and the integration of seating regions.

On the upper-most aft deck, behind the radar mast, she will be able to play host to her own helicopter tender. Other tenders will be stored in dedicated garages in the aft region of the hull. Many jacuzzis and pools will be installed on board Y-705.

The main pool will be situated on the aft section, overlooking the transom of Y-705. On the aft of the Bridge-Deck there will be a jacuzzi as well as to the fore of the open Sun-Deck. This dip-jacuzzi will feature a double-portholed bottom to allow scattered light to diffuse into the interior below. This particular jacuzzi will be almost entirely surrounded by sunpads. Directly outside of what should be the owner's suite will be another jacuzzi.

All in all, the Y-705 is a powerful design that is also aesthetically pleasing. Although stretching 85.50-meters in length, she is a well proportioned megayacht and when December 2009 comes around she will stun the world as one of the leading launches for that year.
