Wow. I had no idea that NM built all those 80 footers.
Some years back--seven or eight?--I was wandering around the Ft. Laud. Boat Show and saw the prettiest trawler I'd ever seen.
Charlie and Patty Hathaway showed me around "Starr" which I think was one of the first Northern Marines in existence. That 75 was, to my eyes, the best engineered yacht I'd witnessed in a long time. That 75 was a revelation.
I contacted Bud Lemieux and wondered if I could market his boats in S. Fla.
He soon built a couple more 75s, followed by the 64s "Zeehaen" (the blue one) and "Spirit of Zopilote" ( the green one), built for Bruce Kessler.

While I never participated in the sale of one of these marvelous boats, I was fortunate enough for Bud to have humored me by sending a lot of brochures and full specs for the 64, 75, and the first 83 which was to become "Martha E", owned by Charlie Entenmann of Entenmann's doughnut fame.
I still have a box of these. Yacht brokers never throw anything out!

That first 75, as I recall, was built for about $2.25M, a true bargain.

Hats off to those guys!

Great trivia! Thanks Loren.

Currently, Endurance is docked at Lake Park Marina, just north of Riviera Beach. Really nice, new facility. The dockmaster is a YF member too. Might have to coax him into getting me onboard.

Here's a pic taken with one of these little digital cameras we're giving away. I wanted to see how well it worked in early morning, overcast conditions. But truthfully, I was at the marina to nurse my first cup of Dunkin Donuts coffee this morning. They should sell that stuff by the gallon.

It's ironic you resurrected the Northern Marine topic, I made a note to call Bud this morning after taking this pic. BTW... when you get up close, the finish on this boat is flawless!

Thumbs up Nice pix of "Endurance" !

I am willing to bet, if you get your tour of this boat, that the engineering will be absolutely superb, and that the layout will have you scratching your noggin, especially accommodations down below, if she was done like "Martha E".

This picture was taken just after Raven was launched in September of 2003. Since that time she has logged over 12000 miles and 1600 hours. I have recently added a 24V dc moter to the water maker, and now can cruise without needing to raun agenerator except for the big electrical loads. Oven Grill washer dryer.
