My apologies for not responding sooner. I don't really monitor this board, and had forgotten I posted here months ago. There's a lot of great information here, so I will be visiting more frequently.
About the rtwcruising.com website:
There is a survey now on the site, that we've been using to filter all the people who register. We were getting 100s of people to register for the Pacific crossing, of which very few owned boats capable of crossing a lake, much less an ocean. From the survey respondents we have a smaller list who are in regular communications to do trip planning. At some point we'll be more public with what we are doing, but for now, we're keeping things fairly quiet, beyond keeping the site up to seek additional boats.
And, actually, we don't want a huge number of boats. Many of the places we'll be visiting have never seen the arrival of more than one or two power boats simultaneously. We're thinking that anything more than 10 boats would be unmanageable, and we're already at 15 boats. The tricky part is that these sorts of trips have a high attrition rate. I don't know if we are at 15 or 5 or even 1. The core of our group are from the Nordhavn Rally (Grey Pearl, Sans Souci, Strickly for Fun, Goleen) so those boats have improved odds of making the journey, but the others I don't know...

I'm one of the organizers for a group of power boats that is planning to cross the Pacific in 2009. For many of us, this is the start of a circumnavigtion. Most are Nordhavns. The website is:

For now, our focus is on a run in 2008 from Costa Rica to Alaska. Several of the boats are coming from the east coast, and we are all rendezvousing in Costa Rica around Feb 2008 to journey north together.
After Alaska we'll start figuring out the plan for the Pacific.
