Classic Yacht Refit 1968 Pacemaker 60'

1968 Pacemaker 60’ (65' Overall) ($1.2M Refit - Completed in 2006). Impeccable hull and interiors. I restored the “Ten & Ten” to reflect a classic era of yachting with all the modern amenities.

She includes new infrastructure & finishes, 75% hull replacement, new keel, custom cherry decks, mahogany paneling, cabinetry, & built-ins typical of much larger yachts, chefs galley, wine “cellar”, flat screen TV’s, 4 staterooms-sleeps 7, Raytheon Navigation Package, “Sea Recovery” Watermaker, Twin Turbo Diesel Caterpillar 3126 Engines, Northern Lights genset.

She is one of a kind and in pristine condition. Located in Annapolis, MD. The asking price is $495,000.

Classy looking old boat, very nice.

Please note, however, that asking prices are mandatory in all listings here at YachtForums.com. Thanks.

you refit a boat because that is what you love..you sell a boat in order to refit another boat. Nowhere, in that equation, do you hope to make money.
You can check out our latest project at www.tomboyyachts.com.

"75% hull replacement"

Couch, what is she, double-planked mahagony or with a plywood base? Is the exterior awlgripped or what? Change any stringers out? Just looking for more details to the extensive hull work. She is a beaut, thou.
Thanks

Is the boat the same layout as when original? The galley and side decks (absence of walk-arounds) look like they may be retrofitted.

Hi,

Couch, If you don't refit boats to make money and you are in the refit business how do you plan on staying in business if your typical finished job sells for so much less than what it costs to rebuild?

It would appear Couch is a philanthropist. Someone with a true love for traditional yachts and the wherewithal to restore them to their original glory. This is someone we should herald and welcome with great respect.

Thanks for the well wishes...however, maybe I've missed the market... if you know someone who wants to buy an old pacemaker for $1.4M, I would be happy to quit my day job and go from philanthropist to savvy maritime merchant...

Wow, Chanticleer is such a beautiful yacht. It's nice to know that perhaps I shall be seeing her from time to time, cruising on the Chesapeake. She is one of my all time favorite Jack Hargrave designs, second of course to my own Hargrave yacht. I remember the magazine article from many years ago when Frances Langford had just purchased and refit the Burger for her use. The interior, as I recall was all in peach and pink tones establishing the fact that she was indeed a yacht done up for a glamorous lady. This of course after Ralph Evinrude had passed away, and the earlier Chanticleer, a DeFoe had been sold. Wonderful to see her in the capable hands of a Yachtsman who is prepared to steward her forward. Your Pacemaker project was probably good experience prior to a task on the scale of a 108' Burger. Good luck with her, and congrats! She is a gem.

Sea Mist?

Couch, Your Pacemaker looks familiar to me. I've been racking my brain to try and figure out where I've seen her before.

It occurs to me that my brokerage had a similar boat for sale some years ago and the name then was either "Sea Mist" or "Blue Mist" or "Something-Mist" Is your "Ten & Ten" that same boat? The folks who had the boat in question for sale were full time live aboard, with a few children.

You've done a job on her. She looks wonderful.

Yes, originally "SeaMist"...she was owned by two airline pilots in the mid 90's. They lived / traveled aboard from the gulf of mexico to the atlantic northeast. They had two or three children and a live-in grandmother...they eventually sold it to move into a home in Virginia...while they had completed some work to her...she was pretty rough and most of their work has been re-done in the years since our purchase.
