Slip in Newport, RI?

I am looking for a seasonal slip in Newport, RI. Unfortunately, I am not finding much luck, as almost all of the marinas are booked for the coming season. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks -Ed.

Slips in Newport

Ed,

Here are two of the newer places in Newport. 41 North (the old Christies dock) and Brown and Howard Wharf. If you don't mind a little travel Jamestown is just across the harbor. Ted Hood has a large marina in Portsmouth just north of Newport.

Did you find a slip? I gather that fuel prices are preventing many people from launching their boats this year. I've heard the marinas may be a bit nervous this year.

Again if you don't mind a 15 minute drive to Newport, there are 3 yards in Portsmouth which is about 6 miles up the bay--Hinckley, East Passage Yachting Center and Brewers Marina. All are nice yards. In Newprot you can try Caseys, or West wind if you haven't already tried. Good luck!
