Some stops between Ga and Tampa

here are a few notes i joted down after coming back from a delivery...

- Golden Isles in Ga was a great stop, courtesy car, good docks, good
restaurant at the marina all for a little over $1 a ft. No pump out though.

-St Augustine Municipal had good service, good docks, a little pricey at $3
but right where you want to be in St Aug. Pump out at the slip.

- Cocoa Village in Cocoa Fl, was ok... someone was there to help us in at
night, many restaurants nearby in Cocoa Village, around $2 a ft. They are supposed to have a nice "club house/lounge" but it didnt have time to try it.

-Palm Harbor in West Palm Beach is conveniently located 2 blocks from the
Clematis area with many restaurants. The docks have seen better days but
the slips are very wide and priced right (around $2, not bad for Palm
Beach). Fuel was $3.4 which is pretty good.

-Bayside Marina, many restaurants, good docks (rebuild after Andrew), but noisy, especially the 18wheelers going up and down the bridge to the port!

-Duck Key/Hawk Cay: watch out for $5 a foot sticker shock! sure the resort
is great (beatiful pool, lagoon, courtesy transportation from resort to
marina), nice reasonable restaurants at the marina but the slip with shallow
depth at the wall, too short finger and loose pedestal wasn't worth $5 a
foot! Add to that a staff with a "what is it with the late arrivals, we
leave at 4pm" attitude when i called in the morning and giving me wrong
directions to the slip! It seems like they expected us to come in at night
with a 54 footer thru the unmarked Toms Harbor cut by the bridge.

- on the other hand, the stop a Naples City Dock was great. The attendant
(Lisa) was friendly on the phone, left us instructions and a welcome note on
the office door. Naples is a great stop, with the 5th Ave. restaurants and
shops just a $5 cab ride away, although deeper vessels need to watch out at
low tide, we found about 5 1/2 in the pass, between the floating red and
green.
