Okeechobee waterway

Has anyone heard how much water it has in it, last I heard it was pretty shallow for lack of rain. Thanks for any feed back...

We have had some rain in the last week and the lake level has come up slightly. Todays report puts the depth for route 1 accross the lake at 4.22 feet, current lake level is 10.28 feet, and normal is around 15 feet.
This is the dry season now, and it may drop lower soon, you will have to have a very shallow draft boat to come across, and the shallow spots are ROCK.

here is a link to the Corps of Engineers to get the reports http://www.saj.usace.army.mil/h2o/reports/r-nav.html

Thanks for the reply, and the link, have not used the canal in a few years and am making a run to the northern bahamas from the panhandle and only have a short window to do it in. Thanks again......
