| North Channel
The most beautiful boating in Canada is found in the North Channel, seek out the Bengamin Islands, you can easily anchor at Crocker Island and dingy into the south end of the Bengamins and explore . Dingy in and look around first, the channels are narrow and the wind can blow hard. If you look you will find pins in the rock that will allow you to tie off all four corners. You will find pink granite rock, wind and wave worn, with small channels eched into the rock, that easily can handle most 40 foot trawlers (5-6 feet of water), it will amaze you how some people have strung themselves in to these holes. If you head further around the island you will find a pink granite beach with a gentle sloping access. You can see the bottom while in 30 feet of water, it's heaven.
Baie Fine is a little further east and is Canada's only natural fjord and well worth the sail . Killarney is a busy port in the summer and a great anchorage is just a mile north, Covered Portage Cove. We have spent many a night in Covered Portage Cove, climbing the surrounding cliffs, listening to a local sailor who brings his bagpipes and plays a selection of tunes each sunset.
Come down the east side of Georgian Bay, a small craft channel is markered and is protected most of the way. Several locals are of intrest. Bad River is a beautiful place to anchor and explore, Devils Door Rapids are fun to traverse with the Dingy. The Bustard Islands make a great anchorage and have good fishing.
If you have clear weather and waves, a more direct route south can be taken.
