Accomodation in Ft. Lauderdale

Excuse me for posting this in the wrong section of this forum...

I will be moving to Ft. Lauderdale in a fortnight to work with a company in the yachting industry (superyachts). I was wondering what my options are for cheap, yet comfortable, accomodation in the Ft. Lauderdale area. Obviously as close to 17th street as possible.

Is Smart-Move any good? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have seve3ral suggestions for you - Smart Moves is not one of them.
Call Nancy Sherwood @ (954) 779-2568. She has a nice cottage for rent and lots of contacts that are worth knowing, plus job leads.
also, I have 2 beds for rent in my second bedroom, there is currently a chef renting in that room, but if you don't mind sharing... $125/week for a bed, nice little house, good location, and I can help with job leads.
If you want to be on 17th St. STAY OUT OF FLOYD'S! there are a couple of really nice places owned by D.J. Parker ( think that's her name) I don't have her number on hand, but I can dig it up. Her places are really really nice, but you pay more for them. Oh yeah and there's a house on US1 near 17th that has space open - kinda a party house, but good digs in close proximity to everything you need.

Exclamation inexpensive lodgings Ft. Lauderdale

Yes...Stay away from Floyds.
I have just built a million dollar home in Ft. Lauderdale specifically for crew
And only $160.00 a week per person.
I am a yacht chef myself and I have stayed in some really bad
crew houses in my time.
I decided if I ever made it big, I'd build a crew house that
people would love to stay in. They're calling it the
Hilton of all crew houses. You walk into a Great Room, open
to the second floor with a curving staircase.
Very close to 17th st. Right next door to Crew Unlimited
4 blocks from Crew Finders
NOT A PARTY HOUSE and VERY CLEAN

CREW CASTLE

Brand New Million Dollar Home
built specifically for crew members

Big Screen TV (small tvs in ea. bedroom)
Free Bikes to rent (with deposit)
Huge Kitchen, 3 ovens, 2 cooktops
Fantastic Great Room w curving stairway
Men's Den, Ladies' Library
Three Decks & Patios, big BBQ
Free Airport Pickup (w advance notice)
Quiet, Convenient, Close to everything
