Yes, they are very nice and distinctive yachts, and have become very popular in the PNW with frequent sightings.
I'm sure your enjoying yours.

Hey! I recognise that one!
We built a 3/8" scale model of her this past summer. Great yacht! Lots of toys.
****ed seagulls, got into in both photos!

Nice job, out of curiosity, what is the approximate fee for a model of that size and detail?.

Hi there,
Lazee Gal is my family's boat. It was built in 1953 for the Dueck family (the car company, yes) by Thorton Grenfell. It is 64' including the swim-grid, and is Mahogany over oak frames. My great-grandfather, who is a Bentall, bought it, and it now belongs to my grandmother and her two brothers. Any other questions, feel free to ask me.

Thanks for the insight. That explains her impeccably maintained condition.
Without doubt one of the more beautiful examples of a classic and timeless designs.
Here is a full screen high-resolution photograph for you…

And congratulation on your soon to be Bentall 6 Tower.

There is another local boat called the Vandal that looks similar to Lazee Gal.
I think the Vandal is a Grenfell of the same length built on the Island by Stone Brothers or something.
I remember the Vandal years ago in Gibsons BC at the owners summer place on the water next to us.
Beautiful boats!
Here are a couple of photos of my grandfather's little 26' Grenfell called "SeaplayII".
Anyone out there recognize or know anything about it?

I admit that I've never heard of "Grenfell" boats prior to you and boat4life bringing me up to speed on them.
Now I can't turn around without seeing one..

- The first 2 photos are of Grenfells that reside here
- Black tie
- Sailboat
- My favorite time of year (next to summer)
