Lurssen's new build 80-meter "Scout" underway
Shortly after Project Bermuda - now known as "Mad Summer"- was launched from the building shed at Lurssen shipyards, a new megayacht was preparing for her journey indoors, the 80-meter Project "Scout" being built by Lurssen shipyards in Germany.
Scout was guided into a covered building shed at the shipyard, where she will be finished and painted; readied for launching in 2009.
At first glance,
Scout resembles another Lurssen build, the "Polar Star" (originally built as the "Northern Star"), but
Scout improves upon the
Polar Star design in physical dimensions, giving her a balanced appearance and proportions. Overall,
Scout is rugged in design, accentuating the expedition theme.
