Lurssen launches 78.50-meter "Mad Summer"
August 14, 2008: Lurssen Yachts of Germany launched their last yacht, the "
Dilbar" weeks ago and is almost delivered. Not far after her, the German yacht builder launched their latest yacht, the 78.50-meter "
Mad Summer".
The near 80-meter yacht is based upon the popular design that started with the "Apoise". The yacht is an evolution of this already popular design. Mad Summer features a baby-blue hull and white superstructure. Another striking feature is the radar mast with its large dome and tiered design.
The design works out proportionally by styling the decks to appear to sit evenly amidships. The result is a well executed design that masks her near 80-meter overall length. While under construction, the yacht was known under the project name "Bermuda" but weeks before launching, the yacht management displayed the final name, Mad Summer.
From all indications, once delivered, Mad Summer will be thrust into the charter market to catch the last bit of the Summer. With her dip-pool and jacuzzis as well an array of toys and lavish accommodation, her first guests will be able to say the had a Mad Summer.
