Thank you for bringing us news of EOS, YachtLuver. Indeed, a very special launch! I've moved this thread over to the Lurssen forum and placed under it's own thread title. (it may not have been seen under the "kites" thread)

    Hi,

    A fine looking vessel indeed.

I am amazed that someone got such good pics from so close.

On a serious website her lenght is shown with 93 m. So she's the answer to Athena. EOS when finished will be the longest sailing yacht.

About the pictures, it is very easy to shoot close pictures of yachts at Lürssen Lemwerder, cause on the opposide of the yard is a public park with benches, playground and a restaurant. Sitting there in the evening and watching the yachts is quite relaxing.

    Hi,

EOS is not doing Sea Trials, these are scheduled to start next month.

When I wrote about how close the pictures were from it was the ones taken from the port side that I was surprised at as these appeared to have been taken from within the Lurssen yard area.

If anyone is wondering how her sails will work? The main sails apparently look like they will be in mast furling system. There is a line attached to the trolley system in the booms and that will drag the sails out of the masts! Very different to that on Athena...she just has hoisted sails. The Jib Stay sails on EOS are the normal rotating drum and automatic pulley.

Eos is reportedly on her way to the Caribbean from England to spend her time down here for the Winter Season. Neil...look out for she might very well be in that part of the region.
