Lurssen 150m "Sunflower"...

The following pictures are compliments of YF member Christian Eckardt. This is the 150-meter Lurssen "Sunflower", scheduled for launch in 2007. These pictures were taken at the SSW yard in Bremerhaven, Germany.

Posting this on behalf of YF member "Leveller", this is a shot of Sunflower preparing to leave the shed in the next 24 hours. Although it appears to have a pink hull, it is due to the orange light in the shed.

Thank you Leveller!

So do we have anymore information or pics of what could be the successor to the Royal Yacht Al Said? The Sunflower Project is certainly an interesting undertaking and I think she will be worth looking into.

Now Sunflower has been launched you really can tell her scale. I have seen some pics of her from fellow member Leveller elsewhere. Maybe this person could post some pics here... She is certainly unique and interesting design. certainly nothing conventional overall about sunflower. She has a double funnel of all things and tripple mast.

Hi,

It is actually a yacht albeit a very big one, the pictures don't really do it any justice to show how big it really is in the flesh.

Hmm....it's typically a "royal arabian yacht design" and looks a little bit like a design from the beginning of the 90's.

Sorry Dominik. We don't talking about the owners and their business to respect the privacy, unless it's public known.
