| Who signs my coursebook? (OOW)
Hi, After various jobs on various yachts i've now got a skippers position on a motor yacht. I have been working towards my OOW qualification and after that hopefully MOY. My question is now that i'm skipper, who can sign my record book for OOW. Can i sign it myself? Is there a quicker way to gain OOW now that i'm skipper? I've tried contacting MCA a couple of times but am not getting much help or info there. Any comments or advice appreciated. |

You can sign it off yourself as you are the responsible person. Demonstrations are done to the crew rather than vise versa. You will need a letter from the owner stating he is satisfied you are fit to sign off your TRB. Best of luck |
