Personally I look for balance, such as appeal, function, ergonomics, efficiency, serviceability, reliability and price. There are many more considerations, but as a basis… these are root, primary objectives. This is why the LSX (or was that NSX?) stands out to me… it strikes a balance. And for balance, I’m willing to pay more.

That same standard crosses over to other aspects of my life. Maybe I can draw another correlation that doesn’t step on hoofs. In looking for a woman to share life’s memories, I seek someone who is physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially… balanced. I have no interest in the artificial, superficial, plastic fantastic, high performance monsters that are a waste of this planet’s oxygen.

By the same token, I gravitate toward women who have made a contribution, made a difference and made our lives better. That same protocol holds true with the products I purchase. I support innovation, because I know the proceeds reward the deserving and lead to further development. Anyone who has invented a product and brought it to market can relate to this.

Coming full circle... from what I've seen, the LSX is priced about right for it's segment. If it costs a little more, it's money well spent in my book. That said... I don't think any car is worth 100k or more. I don't think any watch is worth 10k or more. And I don't think any girl is worth giving up half of what I own!

Wise man
Now you speak of women, very interesting, also a subject which interests me greatly. However, I guess this will not be the adequate place to discuss it.
Maybe you should consider having a "Special Interests Section" on the forum, a sort of backroom, where other off topic subjects can be discussed. Just a thought

The LSX's price is about right.
Understandably, the LSX's price includes a share in the Research and Development cost. Still, it's not too far from comparatively-equipped yachts produced elsewhere.

This is easily one of the more well-designed yachts of seen, and I cannot wait to hit a party on one. My one question is that as a 75 footer, does it require a captain and crew? I know down below 70 feet is considered the owner-operator spectrum (at least I have been told), and above 80 there needs to be at least a captain and one crewman. And I have been on some 70-ish boats that did have crews and captains quarters.

I imagine given the attention to simplicity of use (and what I have read here) that the LSX was designed to be owner-operated. Why else the simple controls and easy docking? That may also be part of the price I think: since boats around this size or larger may require a crew, that this one can be operated without the need for one at all deserves a premium. And as far as I know, the Volvo Penta engines are not maintence-hogs.

And also to the price, does anyone see this as more a party yacht? After all, while it lacks oodles of deckspace, the salon is so open I can easily see a few flashing lights and some loud music making for one hell of a social space....

And finally, its at least less than I expected it: I imagined a new design like this eating up more than $5 million. Shows how experienced I am in this yachting world.

Hi,

I don't think she's high priced.... just think the Sunseeker 72' is priced around 1.500.000 GBP, it's more or less 2.300.000 euros, .... actually a bit more than 3 million USD. Here in Spain, the problem is the high taxes we pay. At the end we have to add almost 30% in taxes to know the final price of the boat.

I've not seen yet the new LSX, I hope I will see at at Cannes boat show next week. But is seems bigger than the Sunseeker Predator 72'.

Regards,

Sarnacho

I've done the math on a concept like the LSX, but than in a custom design and build in Alustar. The LSX is indeed a bargain considering what she can do and how well she is equipped. There is ofcourse no comparison to a custom because of the enormous difference in approach, but I think that the LSX has a lot to offer and it is without a doubt the boat to buy in this market segment.

Whether you like it or not is only a matter of personal taste. If it's within your budget and you have a fully operational brain, you would be stupid not to buy one.
