One of the popular companies, building sail yachts in the Netherlands have recived a contract to construct, what would be their largest sail yacht. This is to be the 50 M by Jongert Yachts NL.
The luxury sail yacht is set to be launched some time in 2011 if all goes according to plan. This new 50 M yacht will be adorned with a ketch-styled rig and is to feature high sailing qualities. In addition, she will be able to traverse shallow waters with the aid of a foldable keel.
2 X CAT C18's will power the new and large Jongert and give her a maximum speed of near 14 knots. Under engine power she will have a phenomenal range but under sail, the posibilities are endless.
