The 5th Kaohsiung Maritime Expo and Yacht Show was unveiled last Saturday for a four day marine cultural event. This year was the most challenging year to date for the event organizer, the Kaohsiung City Marine Bureau. It was at first in the early August, the typhoon damaged Sourthern Taiwan caused the event to be rescheduled to the Mid-Autumn Festival.

Then, on the opening day, the announcement of two typhoons approaching Taiwan simultaneously was worried many of the exhibitors. Luckily the typhoons eventually turned away without bringing a large amount of rain to the Southern Sky. The Kaohsiung City Marine Bureau has again organized a great show, providing an opportunity for the residents of Taiwan to learn more about this city’s unique culture as well as its great ocean resources and industries.

This was also Horizon Group’s 5th year supporting the City Marine Bureau and the Kaohsiung Maritime Expo and Yacht Show. Visitors were able to view three Horizon yachts moored along the temporary floating harbor, allowing them to see first hand quality luxury yachts manufactured locally by Taiwan yacht builders. Many of Taiwan’s press representatives were also invited to accompany Mayor Chen aboard Horizon Group’s latest Elegance 70 model, to experience the kind of life style that has been neglected in Taiwan's culture.

Horizon’s first green show was successfully held at the Taipei World Trade Center on the October 24, 2009. The SunCat 23 and wind blade display attracted the visitors’ attention and became the spotlight of the show. Many attendees were impressed with the innovative and quality products offered by Horizon, including the introduction of A-tech’s FRP wind blade manufacturing using the world’s advance patented SCRIMP infusion process. Held by TAITRA, Taiwan External Trade Development Council, the 2009 Taiwan International Green Industry Show (TIGIS) grandly took place in Taipei City October 21 to 24, 2009. TIGIS showcases public solutions for the global energy crisis and environment pollution. This year’s show demonstrated three main subjects: Water Technology, Clean Energy and Green Environment. Over 150 Taiwan and international exhibitors attended. Every company exhibited their breakthrough technologies and products, and successfully attracted more than 7,000 potential buyers including 415 international buyers from 50 countries and areas.

2010 Düsseldorf Boat Show Highlight

One of the yachting world’s most famous events, the 2010 Düsseldorf Boat Show, came to a close on Jan 31, 2010. The Horizon Group’s exclusive European dealer, Drettmann Group, happily celebrated a successful show, which included a joining evening program with the car manufacturer Audi.

The promising event organized under the name the motto 'Luxury Sports Vol.r4' exclusive unveiled the new Audi A8. Hosted by German’s renowned TV presenter and Audi Brand ambassador, Kai Plaume, the new Audi A8 and R8 Spyder were presenting at 3,000 m2, the largest exhibition stand along with the luxurious and sophisticated Horizon Yachts.

The boat show also included the latest in fashion trends, presented by top model Eva Padberg. The high tech, luxurious, and stylish event provided guests an opportunity to experience the latest in automotive innovations as well as a glimpse into ultra luxurious lifestyles. The combination of advanced automobiles, splendid yachts, and inspirable fashion brought a stunning night to the 2010 Drettmann's boat show stand.

I just read that an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 on the RS occured in Taiwan. To the average person, this earthquake occured just over 3-miles under the surface near the province of Kaohsiung. So far no one has been reported killed.

Celebrating the delivery of the new Horizon RP97 "Euphoria"

A christening ceremony for the brand new Horizon RP97 “Euphoria” was held this past December by owner Kevin Seymour, who previously enjoyed a Horizon E84. Horizon CEO John Lu shared in the celebration with the Seymour family in Australia, expressing his gratitude for their continued loyalty in Horizon and praising Ben Seymour, who at 16 years old contributed to the elegant design and layout of “Euphoria.” After the eremony, “Euphoria” set sail to the South of Sydney, where the family spent the holidays enjoying the yacht in Sydney Harbour.

Horizon wishes the Seymour family much happiness and many adventures onboard their new RP97 “Euphoria.”

Horizon RP120 “MUSES” and P136 “Angara” Finalists in 2012 World Superyacht Awards

Horizon is excited to announce that the RP120 “MUSES” and P136 “Angara” are finalists in the 2012 World Superyacht Awards by Boat International Media for semi-displacement raised pilothouse motor yachts (“MUSES”) and semi-displacement three-deck motor yachts (“Angara”).

Now in its seventh year, the World Superyacht Awards honors the most elite superyachts over 30 meters in length that have been delivered between Jan 1,2011 and December 31, 2011. This year’s World Superyacht Awards will be hosted on May 5th, 2012 in Istanbul, Turkey at the Ciragan Palace Kempinski, and Horizon is honored to have two superyachts among the finalists for this prestigious award.
