New build

I am looking to build an 82' Horizon. I am interested in finding out what kind of performace I can count on. If anyone has experience with some of the large common rail diesels I would appreciate knowing the realistic cruise speed.

Hi MRC,

Glad to see that you are looking into a Horizon. The 82 is probably by far the most popular model for the yard. In terms of the speed, with the standard CAT 1,400hp engines top speed should be around the 23 to 25 knots range and cruising around 18-20 knots. Depending on how you fit out the boat that would also affect the performance as well.

Hope this helps a bit.
