HJB News

The Holland Jachtbouw 152 foot Windrose won the overall 2008 St. Barths Bucket. The Windrose is a phenomenal competitor, participating in several prestigeous races all over the world. However, the winning St. Barths Bucket is a first for the yacht and the team.

This is what Paul Dielemans, the managing director of Holland Jactbouw had to say, "It was a virtual photo finish but we took line honours just five seconds ahead of Ranger. Having come second on day two and fith in the round the island race, this was sufficient for us to be named the overall winner."

The crew who sailed the Windrose in the bucket, was new and only had one day prior to the races to practice and become accustomed her. The schooner-type rig was quite different for them but they sailed to maximum performance.

Where can we take you?

This particular shipyard has gone through some sort of a re-branding. In effect, the Holland Jachtbouw have created a new slogan as well as a new name for themselves.

Of course they still have the same name but have 'initialized' the name. Now they are known as 'HJB' and with this also comes a slogan that runs like this...'where can we take you?' A new name, a new slogan, and a new logo goes well with the new indoor facilities completed.

We know that the new sailyacht Athos will be the first yacht to be completed in the new sprawling 69 M X 20M (LXW) indoor building hall. Managing Director of the shipyard, Paul Dielemans also gave insight into plans of refashioning the existing smaller building hall for the arrival of their 42M motoryacht project.

A new name and slogan for a new journey and a sprawling new indoor facilty housing the world's largest privately owned two-masted schooner -for now- and remodernization of the smaller indoor facility. A step in the right direction I would say.

HJB says...'Where can we take you?'
