Heesen's new-generation 50-meter "Man of Steel"
"Man of Steel" started out as a 37-meter semi-custom and semi-displacement yacht built by Heesen Yachts and delivered in 2005. This smaller white bullet had a top-speed near 31 knots, fitting the super-hero persona adequately. However, Heesen Yachts was again contracted to build another yacht under the same name.
The current "Man of Steel" of 50-meters was recently launched from the Heesen facility. Her appearance is hardly anything clone of her 36.8-meter namesake. She however retains the same external colour scheme.
Build number 13750 will be more conservative in her speed as a contract speed of 14.5 knots is expected. The steel hull and aluminum superstructure vessel was recently seen on trials in the Netherlands going through her paces.
"The new
Man of Steel will have forward sloping bridge windows which is alternate to the 3700. She will apparently carry two pools, one on the aft sundeck and the other on the aft bridge deck.
She will carry a hard top that will have a retractable fabric center. Man of Steel will carry navigation consoles in bubbles on the port and starboard sides of the wheelhouse. For now she will be in a similar colour scheme as the 3700 version."
