Nice shot of the yachts in Monte Carlo harbour today. They are there for this weekend's Forumula 1 race. Lady Moura is also in attendance.
So how many can you name?

Hi PSDO,

Welcome back! Long time , no see.

I looked at that "parking lot" very carefully and after much consideration, taking into account that I look at yachts all day, write about them on occasion, and have spent the majority of my life onboard them, or underneath them...

I'm gonna need a close-up!

Great pic and for once an interesting race (and a very lucky escape for Fisichella & Coultard).

Well I have only been able to spot 2 of those yachts. The first one I can recognise is Alexandra, the Benetti that you can see with the blue hull. The second that I also recognise is Lionheart, it is also a Benetti. Do you think I have any preferences in yachts.... ?

Sounds like you know your Benetti's. They are very nice for sure. I had a hard time picking anything out myself. I do see Blue Harem in the background. I thought for sure there would be some sharp eyes in the group that could name some of them but I guess not?

The T-Jetty :
From bottom to top :

4th from bottom is the 1995, 31 metres Astilleros de Mallorca : Aldonza;
6th : the Benetti Lady in Blue, previously owned by F1 team boss Flavio Briattore who has about just taken delivery of his newest 50 metres Lady in Blue from Amels. This older Benetti, I still call her Lady in Blue, was recently sold and has been renamed (if I'm correct) but I can not recall her present name;
8th : the 43 metres, 2002 Amtec yacht : Ice;
9th : the 1996, 47 metres Codecasa Nounou V (ex Charly Coppers);
10th : not the Benetti Alexandra but the newest in their Golden Bay series : Jo;
11th : next to Jo, the Abeking&Rasmussen Sea Jewel;
12th : only to be seen from the stern and the helicopter platform : the Schweers Nafisa;
13th : the Abeking& Rasmussen Sokar;
14th : another Golden Bay from Benetti, probably Lionheart since that's her usual berth;
15th : ??
16th : the Heesen Blowzy

At the Quay des Etats Unies :

left of Blue Harem :
1. the CRN Lady Anne PB, recently renamed AquaLibrium;
2. the Picchiotti Alta, ex-Talon;

To the right of Blue Harem :
3rd yacht : the Benetti Multiple;
4th : my guess, a Trinity like f.e. Relentless but I'm not certain about that;
5th : a 50 metres Amels : Kermit.

Christo, you must of been there ! How can you see all that ? Do you have the same picture as we do ??? I m impressed I have to say ! You know your stuff, you work in the industry ? I doubt your a mountain climber....

I doubt Chris had to be there to recognize these yachts, as he's got more knowledge on 'em than many of us combined! Still, even if he walked the docks when this picture was taken... how did he remember all of this in such great detail?

Take a look in the yacht owner's forums, under almost any category, and Chris his photographed and written a short documentary on a large number of the yachts we have featured.

We're lucky to have him onboard.

I only wish I hd been there...

I would have seen not only Skat, but also Princess Mariana and... Pelorus!!

Unfortunately, I only arrived at Nice on Friday night and Saturday and Sunday, I really didn't feel up to confront Monaco with a GP in full swing... It's really a terrible place at that time and it's almost impossible to get from one side of Port Hercule to the other...

So, no I was not there...

I did manage to get to Monaco on Wednesday but that was way too late to see much : most of them where gone.

Thats' the trouble if you want to photograph a yacht : they usually don't stay around.

I have to say it's a pleasure reading all the info you guys put up on the board. I am a big fan of yachts and have always been. It's always difficult to find some info about some yachts. I have all the collection of the books edited by Boat International, at the time I used to just look at the pictures and now I really enjoy reading all about them.
Chris I have to say that all the pictures that you take and put up on the web community are great ! I guess you spend a lot of time in the Med. 2 summers ago I spent about 6 weeks on Taiba V, and that is the best way to see all the other yachts.

I'm very impressed. My wife thought I knew my yachts but I'm just a rank amature compared to you guys. And now for your prize!!!
24 hrs in my 360 Modena!!! LOL,,, sorry just kidding again!!!
I'd like to say that I never would have thought that someone could have named them all,,, but you have surpassed anything I could imagine.

I honestly thought you were joking when you asked how many yachts could be named in that picture! Each one was hidden by the next. Even with an enlarged picture, identifying these yachts would have been difficult at best.

Like I said, even if Chris had walked the docks, most mortals couldn't remember the details. In addition to being well versed on yachts in Europe, he can name yachts that are native to US waters equally well.

Kudo's and waves of praise to Chris. Absolutely unbelievable!

Ya I never thought that some one could actually name that many. Obviously Chris is an expert in his field. Kind of like that little boy that can name just about any car from any angle or detail you show him.
I guess I'll have to find a more difficult shot for you guys next time.
