It hasn't changed mine as I was down there and had to come back but as I haven't refueled after getting here as yet I can't say how much the over all cost was.

I can however say I paid €1.42 ( $2.20)at Carrefour to fill up at the start and I paid €1.56 (2.42) when I re fueled in southern Germany. I saw €1.62
( $2.52)here as I left the highway here but wasn't sure if that was the top price or the normal price, I was more concerned with getting home safely as I only had about 800yds to go from the gas station.

The on board computer told me I was averaging 118 Kph or 72.67 MPH and 7.8 lt /100Km or 47.54 MPG per a US Gallon.

I just worked that out and have to say I have no more complaints about my car's performance except it's a bit slow on the uptake over 200 kmh

I am driving a 2008 Audi A4 S Line 2 Lt Diesel ,6 Speed manual gearbox unit.

I had a 5 speed Passat before and think it was quicker except for the top end where it could only do about 235 kmh full out no load.

I will post a total fuel price later when I have it.

47.54MPG per US Gallon? That 7mpg better than the SMART car, better than my friend's Prius. Forget my Hyundai @ 30mpg. No typo?

My apologies to the readers I made a mistake in my calcs. I woke up this morning worrying about the numbers and running previous trips through my mind thinking that this car was very frugal on juice compared to others. This is what I worked out in the cool of the morning.

On Board Computer says

Average speed 118 kmh or 73.29 mph ( 118 divided by 1.61 = 73.29)

Average consumption 7.8 Lt/100km or 7.8lt for 62.11 miles

62.11 divided by 7.8 = 7.962 miles per litre.

7.962 x 3.786 = 30.147

The true figure therefore is 30.147 mpg (US Gal) or 36.18 mpg (UK Gal) and not the number I posted before. I am surprised I have not had Audi people here wanting to take the car away.

Once again I apologize for the earlier post with the wrong numbers. I hope I am quick enough to stop anyone running to their dealers asking for one of these cars

I was about to buy a new car this AM. Guess I'll keep my Sonata a little longer. Considering the price difference for diesel over 87 octane in this area that would equate to about 25 or 26 mpg (guesstimate not calculation) for a gas car. Still respectable though.
Truthfully, the magic number for me to buy a new car is 45mpg and that number will rise with the price of fuel. Auto mfgs. RU listening. If you want my 20K to 30K you need to be. My car can last another 5 years if you're not.

Quebec filling stations fixed prices: watchdog

CALGARY, Alberta (Reuters) - Canada's competition watchdog said on Thursday 13 people and 11 companies were charged with price-fixing at gasoline stations in Quebec following an investigation that included wiretaps, searches and informants.

The Competition Bureau said a Quebec court imposed C$2 million ($2 million) in fines against three of the companies and one person who pleaded guilty to the conspiracy against a backdrop of sky-high pump prices.
Criminal charges were laid under competition legislation after the bureau gathered evidence of agreements among station operators to set pump prices .

Ya really, I grew up in Montreal when the Mayor was Drapaue (not sure about the spelling?), this is going way back now.
The Gazette kept reporting all the electronic goodies and cars that he kept getting from the Mafia on regular basis, yet I believe he was the longest running Mayor in Montreal's History and the people loved him.

I drove the east coast of the US this week. My car requires premium gas, so I was only really paying attention to the price for 93 octane. The most I paid was $4.29 and I found it in NJ for $4.21/gallon.
I filled my tank in Jersey so I should be good for the remainder of my trip to Rhode Island. I don't think the prices will go down as I drive nearer to more expensive real estate.

To complete the info I stared to post earlier this week:

I refilled here in Nthn Germany today for €1.48 a litre or USD $8.61 a Gallon.

This makes the fuel cost alone for that journey to be €184.84 or $285
