Well done, it is United Spirit and after a refit at Anytec, (former Marinteknik) she will now charter in the Baltic this summer. I´ll try to compile her complete history and post it later, pretty interesting as with most old yachts...

Happy to have some news of United Spirit. She had a permanent berth in Antibes during the last years, and she left the port Vauban after the last charter season (for Anytec, I suppose...).

Honestly, it looks most of all like a typical US-designed production yacht in the 100 ft range. Not too many of those around our parts of the waterworld and the they resemble each other...
I prefer this kind of design : |
Amels, tigre d'or series?

It's an 88' custom by LeClercq Marine. Here's the website... www.leclercqmarine.com |

Here is the original design from the late 30ies.
Original she was named Edi II and built for the swedish general consul Torsten Kreuger. With 3 Wright V12 engines the 31,5 meter aluminium yacht had a top speed over 30knots!
Very impressing speed for a yacht in the 30ies.

Even today, that's still flying for a 100' boat!
In the late 50's, my parents bought an 85' ASR (Air-Sea-Rescue) hull from the Navy and proceeded to convert it to a private yacht. If I recall, the boat had triple V-12 Packards and was capable of 60 knots. Can't say for sure, I wasn't even a sparkle in my mother's eye yet. But I probably put her through less aggravation in my teenage years than that ASR did in 2 years. They removed the deckhouse, ripped out the Packards, installed twin gas motors and proceeded to build out the interior and a new superstructure. When I think of all that work, I'm glad I wasn't born yet!
