Need to charter mykonos - athens

I need to get 240 people from Mykonos to Athens on 5th May. Need to arrive in Athens before 11am but no ferries are running.
I've been quoted excesive prices to hire our own ferry. So I'd rather get a superyacht or 2, but need to do the crossing in around 4hrs!

Please help!

Many Thanks,

ps. I've already tried Annaliesse and Alysia

Hi,

You are talking about a specialised passenger transportation operation here.

I do not imagine that either of the yachts you have said you have been in contact with have the lifesaving equipment or general facilities for this number of people.

Why do you have to charter your own ferry/yacht?

Are there no ferries available or none scheduled at the time you want?

I was told that i can take over 200 on Annaliesse and Alysia.

I would love a lavish superyacht but if it has to be a ferry so be it. I have tried Hellelic Seaways, BlueStar, but they do not travel at the times I want and I have only be quoted crazy prices for chartering a ferry so if anyone can come up with some ideas or help that would be great!

i presume due to the cabotage restrictions of greece the boat needs to be a greek flag vessel. is my understanding correct?

cabotage is finished here.
but to get permission to run regular ferry routes, that is a different story. needs power.

still i believe the only foreign flagged vessel running regular ferry routes in Greece is the Incat Fast Ferry SPEEDRUNNER I which is UK flag but it is a joint venture between the UK company Sea Containers and Greeks.

problem with this request is that 4 hours Mykonos to Athens is only going to be possible on Fast Ferry, Yacht or Hydrofoil. With hydrofoil though it would be better to go by plane i guess, its similarly not so fun.

RM ELEGANT will do 100 passengers for Day trip I believe. If you can afford any of the solas yachts though. TURAMA is another choice.

Otherwise in the more budget sector there are vessels for day cruise like PEGASUS, MANTALENA, ALCYONIS if you check the following site. I am not sure if they will be able to do the voyage in 4 hours though.

SEADREAM I and II also but they may have schedule already.

Thanks techmati I will try the SpeedRunner.
What the smallest boat I could charter that would carry 240 people? obviously you could fit that many on a 200ft but would it be classed to carry that many?

I ruled this out previously but in an ideal world I really want to charter a ferry that will carry between 90 - 120cars, if anyone know how I can do this please help! As I said I have already approached BlueStar and Hellenic Seaways.

Thanks
