The Market has obviously evolved into two major directions:

The first one is a re-discovered "easy yachting" that involves sailing yachts, even large ones and sport yachts, so called "opens". The easiness comes from a rather simple layouts, often not on more than two decks, compact crew and unformal and therefore "easy" use of them. The boom of this market shows that yachting can have two faces, because

the second one, a traditional three, four, five or six (etc) is ofcourse still the largest, but obviously not satisfying for everybody. Large amount of crew, formal and through many decks divided life is not so user friendly and appealing to some as it did when it apeared to be the only really "rich" option.

Perini has changed this tree-four-five deck mentality firstly in the motorsailing field, and Rodriguez group has done it in the motoryachting, both showing and teching to the market that wealth of the owners and the volume of the yacht are not necessary connected.

The worlds fastest yacht (as they declare for the Millenium) is a tri-deck. Two of the worlds fastest superyachts are four and five deckers, Katanà and Extasea.

true but if they cut off the upper decks they would be even faster
