Just wondering about something I see in this shot. If you look on either side of the hanger garage level one landing up, there appears to be a turret like device mounted on each side. Are these a high-pressure water discharge system to help with unwanted guest? I really have no idea

Cheers all

Those are aft wing stations equipped with a ray gun intended for errant linehandlers

They do look like mini turbo-lasers, don't they? LOL

They look like fire stations with foam injection capability. Would make sense since the helicopter pad is in that area and fire suppression would be required. If they can actually be used to dissuade uninvited guests that would just be a bonus.

I think we are both wrong. But I also like the ray gun Idea .

If they are used for fire suppression or water cannons it would mean the crew member would have to be outside of the wing station platform in order to aim at the landing pad or staircase.

I remember a PDF file with some great pictures of Octopus and these showed an Arial view of this location. I think this is more of a life raft deployment area and stern docking tether line ejection points.

See the link below

Not sure if that was ok to post, I found that link thought another site to do with crew placement but didn't think about the host site. It is a good pdf file on Octopus but I apologize to the mods for not asking first.

In one of the many pictures I've seen there was a good one of the port side in which this "turret" looked more like a windlass of sorts. So that may very well play to the docking tether idea.

Regardless, take a look at the camera in each of these two shots. Looks as though someone might be keeping an eye on the photographer.

In case you don't see them, look on the underneath side of the sponsons.

I found this link on another site that has a few inside pictures of Pelorus

http://www.roman-abramovich.com/pelo...abramovich.htm

Looks like a site dedicated to Roman Abramovich. If you go to it you will see other links to Le Grand Bleu and Ecstasea.

Cheers all

Very nice. Might be wrong, but some of those images look to be 'borrowed'?.

I found this link interesting, hope it fits with this thread.
I always thought “Golden Shadow” was just a support and play toy holder for “Golden Odyssey”. It seems to be used for a lot of ocean research work as shown in this site. This is the brainchild of the Golden Fleet owner; His Royal Highness Prince Khaled bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz.

In the top link headers of this page there are also some Video Clips, 21 in total, while most of them are amazing footage of sea life a few show some of the engineering and day to day operations of the yacht.

Cheers all
