DING DING DING - Currently Lulu Belle, underway to Scarano's Boat Building in Albany NY to receive a pair of diesels in place of aging Chevy 350s. The present owners have given the edict "make her right" and committed to that edict in all regards. The superstructure will be separated from the hull, all wood topside gone through and replaced or refinished, and belowdecks refreshed.

The crew from Gar Wood Custom Boats are doing and overseeing the work. Nice group, very dedicated to their craft.

Mystery Yacht?

Here's a new photo trivia, but I don't know the answer! This big lady was anchored overnight in the Chester River (in Maryland) behind my office. She was too far away to see her name. Anyone know this beauty?

I hope they don't get in there and find (as with many of these boats) there's more problem than they want to spend money....

Speaking of old Consolidateds, anybody know what happened to Lovely Lady? She lived at Newmark's in Wilmington CA in the 80s. Story was she was MacAurthors old boat. She did have the stainless 6-110s same as from the minesweepers from WWII. Someone ran her up on the entrance at LA Light and she got a quicky patch then sat there for years, then someone bought her and took her away. She was a neat old boat.
