Your geography is close. This is not a Luhrs, but Luhrs did build wood boats. They were lapstrake.
More hints: This particular boat is carvel planked mahogany, and this model was built for only one year. The teak transom is non-original.

Wooden Silvertons were also lapstrake construction.

The only South Jersey boatbuilder I can think of still around that's old enough would have to be Post, but they're off the ocean side, inland from AC, not off the Delaware side.
Henriques, Ocean, and Viking are too recent.

Post is a good guess as they did build a very similar model in the wooden days.
Your second statement is not entirely correct. You are getting warm though!

a friend had a carvel planked Viking with triple nickle cummings, pre '79. Don't remember the length or the year, (the cockpit scuppers kept clogging with cans)
so, could it be a Viking?

No more calls, we have a winner. She is a 38' Viking, built in 1970. In 1971 and 1972 they built essentially the same boat with a wood hull and fiberglass deck and house. By 1973 this model became the Viking 40 which had gone to glass at last.
HONGKONG- You're up!

SeaEric's boat looks late '50s vintage: a la Chris-Craft, Century...but they are Midwest builders, not NJ, as per the hint. Pacemaker (the Jack Leek/Ocean connection) works, but they are not a current builder.
Hmm.

Have you tried this: Uploading Pictures...
Images MUST be 640 pixels wide or less, in .jpg format.
The standard image size on YachtForums is 640 pixels wide. This is so our viewers with low-res, small monitors don't have to scroll sideways. If you are going to upload a picture(s) to YachtForums, PLEASE use a photo editing program to reduce the picture to 640 pixels wide.
Uploading pictures...
You will notice the words "Manage Attachments" on the bottom left side of a "New Post" of "Post Reply" window. Click on this link and a new window will open. Click on the "Browse" button and a window will pop up that will allow you to navigate to where the file (or picture) is located on your hard drive. Once you find the file, double-click on it and it will be placed in the "Upload File Box". Then... click "Upload" on the right side of this box. After the file uploads, click "Close This Window".
Now click on the "Submit Reply " button at the bottom of the screen and you are done! It's really a point and click world.

A bit out of turn, but this lovely old gal was local last night enroute to Albany for a winter of refit, refurb, and repower.
Builder, name, and year? Original name and owner for bonus points?
