Wow,
I remember when those Poole Chaffee's were considered the "big dogs" of their time... Sun Dream, Netanya IV, Thomson I ... now they are dwarfed by the megayachts of today

Elco ? Mid to late '20s about 44' name unknown... remember as a boy riding on one in the Hudson River, had chain steering and chain throttle and clutch, coming into the dock was always a treat!.....

Aphrodite by Purdy Boatworks? My first guess was an ELCO too.

Aphrodite was in a Classic Boat article in the early 90's.

Looks more like a Consolidated than an Elco, and the transom is all wrong for a Mathis.

Nope, nope. Any more guesses? A few hints- She is 47' and built in 1932. I thought this one would be easy.

Yeah Seafarer, I've seen the pic somewhere, can't remember if it was Classic Boat or Wooden Boat mag.

I know I've seen it as well. It sure doesn't look like a Wheeler, and I don't really know Matthews well enough to say for sure, though it's possible.
