Well I just had a look at your Coal Harbour thread and managed to see the same yacht in it. So based on what I saw I would say Benetti Francine!

| reply of RM Elegant, 2005, Kanellos Yacht
Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, and I was just floating through these pages, and my favorite boat is the RM Elegant, 2005, Kanellos, on page 63? I like Auzimut, Millenium, and Lazzara Yachts.
Thanks!

Brand, Modell, Length in feet and country of origin? A plus for the designer. |

She is Storebro 62, 62 feet in length and made in Sweden. As to my recollection of memory she was design by an Argentinian designer, but could not recall the name. She was an effort for the company to grow larger after the company was taken over by the present owners. She was not in line with traditional Storebro designs and in spite of extensive advertisement campaigns, the sales was not a big success. She was not large enough to be considered a big boat, however there was a pretention to be a big boat. I have been on the boat and this has reflected as too many levels on the boat.

Good enough! The correct name is Storebro SGS1 for Storebro Grand Series Nr1. Designed by German Frers whos son, German "Mani" Frers Jr was the principal designer for the Victory Challenge America's Cup team.

Nilo, your story is correct and just four boats were built. But some years before this, Storebro built an even bigger boat, the Storebro Royal Cruiser 73. This was designed by John H.V. Lindblom, really good looking and more timeless. Unfortunately she was launched in a recession when the japanese buyer got bancrupt and she was very expensive, so only one was built.

I think the hull was build in Denmark at the time and if I am not mistaken this was the start of Royal Danship. I have heard that after this effort the Royal Danship idea blossomed.
