    Hi all...
A few random shots from around the Greenwich shoreline this past week.
What's the story on these? The white yacht "Triumphant Lady" has been here for a month or so. There was a similar one two years ago that Leonardo Dicaprio called home while filming a movie locally.
There were lots of people coming & going on the dark blue yacht so I didn't want to get too close. Any idea who owns this?

The one on land is at Norwalk Cove Marina. Looks like she got a serious stretch at some point in her life! With the screws set so far from the transom, how does it affect the maneuvering?

Triumphant Lady used to spend a lot of time at Bahia Mar in Ft Lauderdale. Don't know anything about the others.

What in the world are the four square objects on the transom of that unfortunate Burger in Norwalk Cove that someone welded an extension onto? looks to be above the waterline so that would rule out diver plate zincs, Freeing ports perhaps?? Good god its an ugly addition to what was a perfectly good S&S design and looks like it was done in the back yard . Transom has no radius and is just a flat plate of aluminum & doesn't match nor does anything else.
with the davit back in the cockpit I have to assume a tender is under the sole?
So sad to see a classic like this with a ****** designed and executed extension.

Maybe the stylist thought it would move the CG forward and make up for the weight of the tender.

Maybe the depth of the technical superintendent's knowledge goes no lower then the boot stripe. Some grew tired of trying to penetrate the density of superiority so they moved on, like anyone with intellectual maturity would do.

There was an obscure thread on YF a while ago regarding CG. I believe moving the tender FWD cause the CG to AFT, unless the STBD falangy in the ER is moved to the centre line. Also that the sq. root of the LWL, multiplied by 1.34 can displace CG even further?

Lets not and say that we did!
I want to hear the members thoughts as to the four squares on the lower part of the transom? If in fact the consensus is freeing ports than one would have to speculate that the money had run out by then if that was the best cosmetic remedy.

I'll stop by & get a few close up shots of the mystery holes next week. We are in Montauk now after a few nice days on Block Is. Fabulous trip so far with just one rainy day (today).

Sorry Triumphant Lady is still Triumphant Lady, the Tooth Fairy is her sistership and has been sold twice since as Aero Toy Store who was last listed at $4,495.000.00 before being sold and is now Matrix Rose who is on the market for $13, 990,000.00 after being repowered.

Triumphant Lady has been on the market for several years after a major refit in 2009 being priced at $8,900.000.00.

They along with Southern Cross III were built in Japan's Nishi Zosen yard in the mid 1980s to designs by Sterling Yachts and Jon Bannenberg.

Southern Cross III is on the market for $10,000,000.00.

To see their listings search "sterling" on yacht world.
