That said i have some experience on the ism for any yacht above 500 gt i was looking if someone could share with me a link where i can find a mini ism manual that i can readapt for the yacht i'm looking at.

Can anybody help me?

Thanks

Might be easiest to go with something like this:

The only problem with the template approach is the document becomes nothing more than a piece of paper that fulfills a regulatory requirement. It doesn't do what ISM and even "Mini-SIM" are intended to do and that is to develop a boat and crew specific set of procedures and guidelines that are relevant to real life operations.

Agreed. I really should have used the term guideline, rather than template. Regardless, the template I referred to was hugely valuable in helping me to develop a specific working system for our vessel.

Good deal, that is the way to look at it. It really should be a working document and useful for training and familiarization as well.

I have written several for our smaller boats and always try to provide enough material so that a captain or mate can use it to develop a system that works within their culture.

Thanks all for the help so far.

I fully agree that any document must be a guideline only.

That said I belive that the ISM manual should be tailor made for the company and the procedures and forms contained in it must be tailored for the single yacht. I try to keep my yacht in fleet devided by size and type when issuing circular letter, safety bulletin or any forms I can not send on board of a Perini a procedures for two engin motor vessel.

Thanks again for the collaboration so far I hope to receive more.

thanks

salvatore.
