Reviews Are Back!

The ever popular reviews are back with the Horizon PC-58. Really nice write up on it.

Thanks for the enthusiasm! While I'd like to announce 'reviews are back', I cannot. The next review in the schedule will be over the summer, but my main focus right now is getting a new website off the ground. I had NO business writing the PC-58 review while in the midst of developing this new site. Thank goodness Judy and Kevin were looking over my shoulder correcting more grammar mistakes than a high school dropout.

We are becoming increasingly selective about the boats we cover. There's a few political reasons why I've backed off on reviews too, mostly due to marketing directors who send out images and specs to anyone with a keyboard, granting them permission to publish features like they actually have knowledge or authority on yachts. It's a joke! It dilutes our work and it devalues the boats these manufacturers build.

Without new reviews, I knew we would lose some readers over the past few months, but this is a temporary loss I'm willing to accept. The new website has more long term value to YF than any review I've published.

Thanks to everyone for being patient.

I am sure the wait was and will always be worth it!!! Very nice review.
It is a very good and brave decision to be more selective, it shows the big professionalism you can find here through you, members and moderators everday, thanks Carl.

Don't thank me. Thank yourselves. You guys built YF too!

I need to thank Lars & Kevin for looking after YF while I'm breaking my brain. They are always here, always diligent and I couldn't do this without them. Well, I could... but I'd be so grouchy most of you would never return.

Sometime over the summer, JetForums will go live. It's been a lot of hard work, but it's coming together nicely. I've found a renewed enthusiasm that I haven't felt for awhile, maybe because in a remote way I'm returning to aviation, which was a big part of my life at one time, but mostly because I enjoy building things, whether it's a new technology or a new business.

Ron (YachtNews) is helping me out by gathering news content for JF. Hopefully it will be a place that a few YF members will frequent, but ultimately I think JF will find its wings and in time, it will gain lift.

Unprepared for photo

I don't get manicures often because chipped nails are a hazard of the job, but next time Carl uses a picture with my hand in it, I hope he'll give me enough time to prepare:

Does something tell me this is the wrong audience to appreciate this picture?

Judy

Not really!

Is that done at a salon or yacht chandlers?

Good job on the review.

Cheers,

Maybe not. The last time I saw nails like these, they were on a woman that charged by the hour.

She was a dayworker (get your minds out of the gutter).
