It was nice to see HORIZONS, KARIMA and COY KOI all similar style yachts in the marina at the same time. I think they are great and refreshing.

HORIZONS is registered out of George Town, Cayman Islands. I'm not sure who built her, but she looks like one of the commerical trawlers built in the Pacific Northwest region that was converted to private use. Nice to see these beautiful expeditions. I hope more manufacturers have them commissioned... so there will be more used ones available in the future. ;)

Gosh techmati, those look like they should be battling a full gale in the North Sea instead of basking in the sunny Med! :) Neat yachts, thanks for showing us those.

KARIMA has diesel electric propulsion and dynamic positioning system  . She used to allow a heli to land on the aft deck and be stored below i suppose where the tender is. Since she has been lengthened i dont know if that system still applies. They had a fish tank at the stern, i wonder what that was for....lunch?

In looking at the picture of Maupiti, I don't recall seeing her with an aft-cockpit. Was this an extension added by the new owners?

Been lurking for awhile now, great site. In response to Horizons, she is owned by an American who uses her for a mother ship to his sportfish called Tyson's Pride, and yes he is in the chicken business.

    LOL! :)

    Among my favorites…first and foremost, is Delta’s 163’ Triton…
    http://www.***************/yacht_triton.html

I’m also a fan of Luiz De Basto’s designs, such as the Newcastle Voyager series… http://www.***************/boats/YD/YD_Frame_Set_B.htmspon

For smaller expeditions, I have great respect for Eric ******** and his Moloka’i Strait designs… http://www.sponbergyachtdesign.com/Molokai72.htm

Should we re-title the thread "Expedition Yachts" ? :D
