Weaver Boatworks

I've always been a bit of a fan of the Weaver S/F's, they seem to be doing a decent boat as they always seem to have a build on.

Anyway, there latest S/F to flash is the 80' "Islamar", and was in the latest Ma*l*n Mag, I thought the back down speed was impressive, 6knots+ in a decent swell.

Wait till the end of the clip, crank the volume, Nice !

Typo - flash... errr it was meant to be splash... I blame beer and jimmy for that one!

Glad you like the link C team, nothing better than some diesels making some noise!

I was there when they put her in the water for the first time. That boat is just incredible and Jim Weaver is a good guy.

Agreed, but for a SF to back down at 6 knots, it's hardly an accomplishment.

6knots into a swell, they got up to 8-9knots at 1200rpm (no swell)... it is 80' long. Then again I'm no expert

Typically the longer a sportfish the better it will back down. The longer it is the less the transom will want to pull down when backing and the shaft angle is usually better also causing it to not dig in when backing down......

There are some exceptions with the shorter SF such as the old 46' Merritts, Gamefisherman's and G+S's
