I must say that I found this a de ja vu situation. We set nets for flat fish in estuaries at night and if you use a spot light to help navigate the local mullet seem to jump towards the light as they are chased by larger fish and you end up with a number in the dinghy. Happens sometimes during the day but less so. Never had as prolific 'incoming'! as these guys but I have had the odd slap in the face as they come aboard. Saves setting the bait nets as much! As people somewhat ruefully say, often the real fun in boating over your life is in inverse proportion to the size of the boat you own at the time.
