The Frers 150, is a beautiful modern classic design developed by German Frers and being built by Derector shipyards with an interior by John Munford. The sloop-rigged vessel is being built with the intent of competitive racing in mind.
The vessel is being charaterized by "Sleek hull lines combined with a modern bow, gentle shear and a traditional overhang in the stern give this yacht a contemporary - yet timeless appeal," according to Derecktor.
To facilitate the intended use of the yacht, a type 5383 Pechiney aluminum is being used with cored interiors for a dramatically light but sturdy yacht. At the time of postage, Derecktor confirmed that the Frers 150 was 95 percent structurally complete and interior fabrication, about 90 percent completed.
The vessel has an overall length of 45.50 M, an overall beam of 8.86M and a draught of 5.00M. In light-ship mode, she will weigh a mere 180 tonnes. In sailing mode, her mainsail will cover some 9,695 sq ft.
The layout of the Frers 150 is said to be classic, featuring an expansive Master suite at the aft. The interior is characterized by raised-panel wood works being complimented by wooden floors almost throughout all the interior. A well appointed deckhouse gives rise partly to a spacious saloon while below is furnished for luxurious accommodation.
