Just ran across this beauty: Custom built in 2008, she is probably the only power catamaran intended as an all ocean global cruiser. Some 110,000 man hours were invested in her design and construction and she has demonstrated her sea keeping ability with over 15,000 nautical miles logged under her keel in some of the most notorious oceans in the world without incident or problems. And it is doubtful you will find a greener superyacht; constructed in aluminium, she is incredibly fuel efficient, burning less than 30 litres an hour at her cruising speed of 8 knots. Her accommodation consists of a full beam owner’s cabin on the main deck, plus 3 ensuite guest cabins on the lower deck... more HERE: http://www.song-saigon.com/ ...and she has had a big price reduction recently: the asking price is down from $3.6 million to €2.2 million
Wow, nice! I always think that catamarans look a bit clunky and boxy, but that's very good looking. I liked lot about the Horizon 80 that was recently reviewed, but Song Saigon is much much better looking.
Here is another sister design that I just ran across: http://www.catamarans.com/sales/preview.aspx?boat=TROPIC-COMPOSITES-80-PELICANO&id=a006000000F0LZvAAN&src=home&box=latestlistings&date=1/23/2011 I'll try editing this posting when the original website gets their act straightened out Brian
Didn't have time to edit above link, so here is one photo. Same designers, different construction materials and yards
How about a little shorter version, the Bamba 50,....same designers....actually I think a little better layout in the 50 footer... http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/general-sailing-discussion/6590-motor-sailing-vessels-motorsailer-2.html#post146204
