About Bo Zolland…
Born in 1952, Bo Zolland grew up in an active boating family in Sweden. Early on, Bo began taking pen to paper, drawing the lines of the boats that influenced his youth. By the 1980's, Bo's interest turned to the restoration of classic wooden boats, such as Craft Craft runabouts. Realizing the lines of yesteryear were even more beautiful today, he began doodling retro-runabouts with a dash of modern elements. And thus a new direction was born, one which has created a wave driven by passionate boating enthusiasts.
Bo's background in mechanical engineering and illustration, along with the revolution in computer assisted drawing, became a new way to convey his interest in boat design. No longer limited to a one-dimensional canvas, his imagination and aptitude for all things digital became a new medium and a new business. Enter: VizualTech Design. From humble beginnings in 1999, Bo’s work quickly gained recognition on Internet forums such as YachtForums.com, evolving into the digital artform we enjoy today.
In early 2008, Bo joined a number of leading specialists in various fields of yacht construction and design. Together, they formed Advanced Yacht Design Group,... or AYD. In the past, each of the principles had encountered the same problem of being a specialist in only one aspect of the construction process, but collectively, they bring forward the same capabilities as a large design firm. Later this year, the company plans to release some stunning new yacht concepts in the 35-50 meter range. Until then, enjoy some of Bo’s digital artistry.
