Usually Feadship makes some publicity around their new built yachts, but in case of Siran this was forbidden. Only few others Feadship were treated like that : Aviva (now Attessa III) and Lady Beatrice.

Why the secrecy : because her owners requested it. In this business, a whish is a command.

Her owner : a Lebanese businessman with Armenian roots who is a very big benefactor to Armenian cultural organisations. He is based in London, with also considerable business intrests in the USA. He was the principle agent for the royal family of a South East Asian mini-oilstate. I believe all of these clues must allow you to find out who he is...

I first saw Siran in 1992 in Monaco. Drawn to any kind of harbour i had spent most of the day gawping at the multitude of boats in Monaco which is an absolute "must go" for all boatie poseurs. Big fat beer bellied old men with the token dolly birds parading about on board who would never be seen anywhere near if these men were sitting in an old Ford Escort! I reckoned most boats that were owned, must be drug dealers. The rest just chartered out.

Then, the Siran appeared gliding slowly into port. As it did, all the poseurs scurried away below the decks of their "borrowed boats"! The Siran is no "boat"....it's more a ship!

I have quite a few photographs of it and got to chat with this girl who worked as a Secretary on board, her brother also a crew member. She would not tell me who it belonged to, but she did say she wished she could take me on board to look around. She described the Bathrooms which were all fitted out using the best Italian marble and gold fittings

I was the girl you spoke to in 1992 on the Siran. Just to correct you, it was not my brother on board as a crew member, but my husband. He was the Chief Engineer. We were both in Holland at the De Vries Shipyard from 89-91 during her build and then on the yacht until late 1993. My husband is one of the only Chief Engineers that has supervised 3 yacht builds at De Vries Shipyard, Aalsmeer - MY Rio Rita, MY Sea Jewel and MY Siran. Siran, in my opinion, is still the most beautiful yachts around and no yacht will never have anything like the interior that Siran has - she is a one off.
