| Oh Crap!
I purchased a 65' without looking at it first, turns out I probably got the only one in existence with no master stateroom! Anyone know of any others out there with this layout?

So you bought a high level, semi-custom, 65 foot sportfishing boat wihout looking at it first?
No survey?
No sea trial?
No research?
If you did not know what the cabin layout is, do you know anything about the motors? Electronics? Hull, history etc. etc
As John McEnroe once pronounced:
"YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS!!!"
Either you closed the deal on a price that was INCREDIBLY good value, in which case live with it...
or???
ARE YOU SERIOUS?

Not all that unusual. It sounds like you bought a boat designed for the day charter-fishing business. You're lucky if the salon was enclosed. Staterooms are wasted space if you don't carry overnight paying customers. Quote: |

| That's an interesting way to buy a boat. Was it an E-bay auction? |

Could that have something to do with why there were several boats? Evidently you didn't even see pictures of the boat if you didn't know there was no master SR. I've seen people who did that with cars. They were on People's Court. That was only dealing with a couple thousand $'s though. Differences in condition on a boat could easily be a difference of tens of thousands of dollars at least. You have a prime example there. It's the difference between "never been fished" and "used and abused in the day-charter fleet". What would you estimate as the cost to install a master stateroom?

I am not sure if that is how I would describe it.
The OP is a boat builder who does not seem to know very much about the regulatory side of things given his HIN Post yesterday.
First we have a $4m Sportfish which is older than it looks that was never checked by the Buyer at all.
Next we have a Donzi 65 that doesn't have a Master Cabin and this was also never checked by the buyer who is a boat builder who 24 hrs previously made this statement: http://www.yachtforums.com/forums/117065-post31.html
Make up your own mind.

The other thing that I found strange was that this is the only 65 that I'd seen that didn't have a cut down galley with undercounter refrigeration. For those of you who know the boats this is the ex "timeless".
