Delta 124' "Marama"
9,200NM! That alone says a lot about this yacht. In particular, it says that this yacht is capable of being a globe trekker. Delta Yachts, in conjunction with Setzer Design have formulated a practical and robust design that is 124 feet long and called "Marama".
The long-ranged Marama is an interesting project, due to be launched some time at the turn of 2008. With traditional lines and soft edges, Marama will have a classic, but modern style.
Her color, according to the renderings suggest that she will have a gray hull with a blue and red boot-line. The superstructure will feature a white paint finish. The paint will be Awlgrip on the composite structure.
On the inside, Marama will make 6 privileged guests feel at home. They will be served by 6 crew members. It can be imagined that she will feature 3 guest rooms with a capacity of 2 persons each. The owner's suite seems to be included in this as well. It is said that her interior will feature, mahogany wood to give the feel of classic sailing yachts.
Marama will be a phenomenal cruising range of over 9,000NM. This is far greater than most yachts of her size and even larger. She is to be built in a robust manner for the conceived encounters in the Pacific. This is where she might spend a lot of her time.
Her 9,200 NM range is perceived to be attainable at an economic speed of 10 knots. She will have a slightly faster maximum speed of 13.5 knots. To provide the power for the speed, Marama will have 2 CAT 3412E, 650 Bhp at 1800 RPM.
